I didn't know J. Rowling had suggested early on that a main character would be killed off, but I'll bet anything she just couldn't do it. It's like my plans to write Dr. Baker's tribute LHOP fanfic and just couldn't do it because it meant having to kill or alter his life in such a way that he couldn't really practice medicine quite as much. I couldn't do that. Then time just went by, and well, to heck with it, I'd rather the main characters all lived anyway. :) And you're also right, there are a lot more series out there, HP isn't the only one, it's not the first and won't be the last. About Cedric - maybe if we start up a LHOP rpg, I should make up a character with the name Cedric - that would be cool. Of course, he'd be very caring, similar to Albert in that respect. I really enjoyed reading this post! While I can understand that people felt sad that the Harry Potter book series has come to an end, I agree that some have taken it a bit too far.
